Howard is a Regional Sales Manager at ZScaler, a cloud-native security company that is rapidly transforming enterprise IT. His career in sales is notable for what he has managed to achieve in a relatively short time and how he has taken the lessons of a decade in the Army forward into Software Sales.
Howard came to sales after a 10 year career as an Officer in the British Army where he served in 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards, a Light Cavalry regiment specialising in reconnaissance and independent manoeuvre warfare. After an exciting and varied military career, including deployments to Sierra Leone, Canada, Kenya, Afghanistan, Howard decided to leave the Army and start looking at what the next challenge might be.
Drawn to the competitive and challenging nature of the interview process at AppDynamics (Cisco), the unapologetically high standards and meritocratic nature of rewards, he took an initial role working in Renewals/Customer Success for the DACH market. After a year in which he set a new record for the role he followed a friend and colleague to a y-combinator originated start-up and then on to ZScaler.
